Couldn't Make the Data Marketing 2014 Conference? Here are Some Key Takeaways

Despite some record snow-fall on day two that threatened its success, Toronto Data Marketing 2014 in December was a hit! The show was filled with hundreds of eager marketing professionals, ready to learn more about the trends in data analytics. In the panel discussion “Data Marketing: How Did We Get Here?”, in which our very own Analytics Manager Tom Zougas participated, we learned that it’s not the data that’s important, it’s the ability to extract key insights from it.

Attendees were eager to learn how they can leverage analytics platforms to find value in their data. Many of them not only want to focus on how to manage “big data" but how to take on the next big step to make better data-driven decisions.

As part of the event's materials, Angoss' Campaign Marketing Manager, Mathew McLarnon wrote an article on data visualization from the point of view of the marketer. It speaks to the frustrations that marketers face when looking at the results that Data Scientists and Analysts present to them, when all they want is a visual and clear answer to their marketing questions.
